I am hoping to go to Strawberry Park this year, and wish you were in New England more often. Many years ago I sent you a Christmas card, after going to Grey Fox in '97, you were kind enough to write back, not too many bands do that anymore. You have all brought me so much pleasure with your music for so long, Thanks.

Seen you perform in Florida numerous times and traveled to Alabama once to get my DBFS 'fix'. Can't get enough and truly appreciate your music and the stories that accompany.

I wanted to write that I've really enjoyed your perspectives on music, life and US politics and look forward to many more "quarterlies". I've already learned how to get a speedy response off.

Admin reply: Howdy Bill. We had a great time in Calgary and hope to return some day soon. The audience was great, and that's a pretty darned important part of making for a good show. Thanks for being a part of it. I know I'm about 5 or 6 "quarters" behind on getting those things out. Obviously the problem is that the writer needs to learn a little more about "rapid" production; maybe you could share some of your secrets about the "rapid response" technique. My wife and I were at your recent shindig in Sausalito and had a truly great time!! It was the best live bluegrass evening we've had since we saw the Dillards at the hungry i in 1963!

 Ron—thanks so much for your excellent letter in the March edition of Bluegrass Unlimited. It was gratifying to read your defense of Chris Stuart’s writing and your admonishment against the suggested censorship. Judging from the accompanying letters, others shared this same opinion. But no one can express it with your penache.
